Dear Parishioners and Friends,
The Delta variant of Covid is once again affecting our fundraising efforts for the Padre Nicolas Antonio Rodriguez Diocesan School in Agua Caliente, El Salvador. Regrettably, we must again forego our dinner and auction this October and replace it with our now Second Annual October Non-Event.
Last year you helped the Colegio Mission Committee raise almost $7,000 for the school, an astronomical amount seeing that you had no incentive other than your generous hearts. This year every donor will be entered into a drawing for one of three great prizes: a hand-thrown piece of pottery from Newman Center’s own potter, Frank Susi; a wine basket put together by the committee (must be 21 or older to win); a Christmas tree luminary handmade in Poland. The drawing will be held November 14, and winners will be contacted by the CMC.
The school remained viable during 2020 with teachers using the internet when possible or conducting at-home visits. They were able to retain 110 students, meeting with them in-person this year. We are hoping you will once again open your hearts and help this only Catholic school in the Diocese of Chalatenango continue to grow.
There are two ways you can contribute to the CMC’s Second Annual October Non-Event:
Please consider the following amounts based on our past fall dinner/auctions. Think of these monetary ranges as the money you would be spending if we had the fundraiser in person. But ANY amount is most greatly appreciated.
$15-$30 No bag raffle or 50/50 tickets to buy
$35-$70 No dinner tickets to purchase
$75-$?,000 No silent auction items to tempt you to spend more than you planned
Muchas gracias for accepting our invitation to the Second Annual October Non-Event Fundraiser for the Padre Nicolas Antonio Rodriguez Diocesan School.
Sincerely,
The Colegio Mission Committee
