First Penance and First Eucharist
Usually these sacraments are celebrated with our children in 2nd Grade. Children must be baptized in the Catholic faith and be enrolled in their second year of CCD or Catholic school. Parents of children not meeting these requirements should see Carmen Roebke. We will be combining with St. Patrick Parish for Parent meetings, retreat days and first reconciliation. University Parish families will have the opportunity for their children to celebrate First Eucharist at the Newman Center if they so choose.
Parents of children older than Grade 2 needing these sacraments should contact Carmen Roebke as soon as possible so appropriate arrangements may be made for your child.
The schedule of meetings, retreats, and reception of sacraments can be found under "Documents" to the right.
St. Patrick will celebrate First Communion on Saturday, May 6, 2023.
UPNC will offer the sacrament for our parishioners on Sunday, May 7, 2023.
Confirmation
In our diocese Confirmation is usually celebrated during the 8th grade year, but we provide Youth Confirmation for students in 8th-12th grade.
We have enjoyed a combined celebration of Confirmation with St. Patrick (Kent) and Immaculate Conception (Ravenna) for several years. This year we welcome St. Peter of the Fields (Rootstown) and St. Joseph (Mogodore) not only to our combined celebration of the Sacrament, but to a combined preparation program as well.
The schedule for Confirmation Preparation can be found to the right under "Documents."
